Montepulciano d'Abruzzo D.O.C.

Top product of the Company awarded several times in national an international competitions.
It is a red wine obtained by Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes coming from a small vineyard which has been placed for over 40 years at half-coast on a green sunny hill between the Adriatic Sea and the Maiella mountain producing regularly excellent-quality berries.
From the meticulous wine-making cared in all its long stages and from the following prolonged refining in small oak barrels, an excellent red wine of intensive structure is obtained, according to unanimous opinion, showing an enveloping bouquet with its unique taste reserved to great occasions.

- AREA OF PRODUCTION: Torre Zambra, Villamagna. Vineyard: Costa Rosa. Year of placing: 1961. South -South-East exposure, altitude 220 mt. Soil: clayish, partially calcareus.
- YIELD PER HECTAR 80 q.ls
- HARVEST TIME: last decade of October.
- WINE-MAKING: fermentation in stainless-steel vats at 28-30°, 60 days peels soaking.
- REFINING: in stainless-steel on year long, in French oak barriques and new Slavonian for 24 months and in bottle for 6 months.
- ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14%, residual sugars 2,8 gr, total acidity 5.90, dry extract 35 gr/lt.

- GROWING SYSTEM: Abruzzo Pergola (year of placing 1971), South-east exposure, altitude 200 mt, clayish, partially calcareous soil.

- HARVEST TIME: middle October.
- WINE-MAKING: soft grapes pressing, grapejuice vacuum filtering and later fermentation in new French oak barriques in proper air-conditioned premises.
- REFINING: 15-16 months wood refining and furthermore 4 months bottle.
- ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14,20%, residual sugars 3 gr lt, total acidity 5,50, dry extract 30 gr/lt.
